The Best Training Camp on the Planet

Why we created Summer Altitude Camp

We saw a major gap in the resources high school distance runners have available to them. Some of these resources are:

  • Access to recovery professionals.
  • Proper strength and mobility training.
  • Sponsorship from major shoe companies.
  • Locations to train like Boulder, Colorado.
  • Training partners that desire to be great just as much as they do.

The Leading Pioneer in Training Camp Experiences across the United States.

The 6-week structure of Summer Altitude Camp is highly differentiated from a traditional HS/MS training camp. Our camp is a one-of-one, professional-level training camp designed to give young distance runners something we never had growing up. Here are our four pillars that paint the picture for what Summer Altitude Camp entails:

The Environment

Based in Boulder, Colorado. One of the world’s premier hubs for high-level distance runners. Training here for six weeks allows athletes to fully adapt to altitude and make meaningful gains in fitness.

The Coaching

Our Staff brings years of NCAA experience to the table. Combining Division 1-level training knowledge with six weeks of hands-on coaching that accelerates growth and raises training IQ.

The Culture

Athletes are surrounded by like-minded, driven peers and coaches. The culture pushes you to be the best version of yourself every day. Preparing you for college athletics and life.

The Education

Learning happens on and off the training grounds. From daily interactions with our coaches to conversations with professional athletes and coaches. Every moment is a chance to get 1% wiser.

Camp specifics

The Complete Experience

lodging included

Six week stay in Boulder, Colorado.

Rather than college dorms, our camp houses athletes and coaches together in large houses intended for group stays. There are a lot of training and cultural benefits that come from this. We teach not only how to train like a pro, but how to live like one.

meals included

Learn to fuel like an Elite Distance Runner.

Learn how you should be fueling pre and post-workout. Understand the “why” behind what you’re having for dinner. Even get the chance to learn to cook yourself if you want. Six weeks of learning can give you tools to take with you long after camp is over.

train like a pro runner

Running, Strength, Mobility, Recovery.

Nothing is left on the table. Miles of soft-surface trails and dirt roads, plus facilities to strength and mobility train. Lastly, a full metabolic assessment at the end of camp that gives athletes precise training markers to take home with them. No room for excuses.

Gear packages included

Dream On.

On is the brand behind many of the best athletes in the distance running world. We’re very grateful that they support our vision of creating the best training camp on the planet. Every athlete that attends Summer Altitude Camp receives a gear package courtesy of On.

explorations included

A Reimagined Training Adventure.

Beyond the journey to find new levels of fitness, athletes will embark on “mini-trips” throughout the course of camp to explore various parts of the Rocky Mountains and the colorful state of Colorado.

Performance testing included

Metabolic Insights you can take home with you.

Intelligent training doesn’t end when camp does. Every athlete receives a lab-grade metabolic assessment. Revealing precisely where you are in terms of Lactate Threshold, VO2 Max, and other valuable training metrics.

media & memories included

Social Media Coverage like no other.

Much like everything else, our camp is also documented at a professional level. Photos, videos, and reels that capture your journey. Athletes leave with personal media they can use of memories that they’ll never forget.

On athletics club tour included

Pull back the curtain on Pro Distance Running

Step inside the world of professional distance running with an exclusive On Athletics Club facility tour. See how some of the best distance runners on the planet train, recover, and live the sport at the highest level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Athletes ranging from grades 7-12 are eligible to attend camp. You do not need to be a certain performance level to attend. Developing runners can benefit just as much as elite runners can from our camp.

Since camp takes place in Boulder, CO. The recommended airport to fly into is Denver International Airport. We do provide campers free transportation from DIA to our reserved Airbnb(s). Ideal flight arrival time on the first day of camp is before 3:30pm Mountain Time. We will depart for camp once everyone is present and accounted for. There is a space on the camp registration form where you can provide us with your flight info and arrival times. Parents are more than welcome to come visit during camp, just confirm with your child or a BCET Coach to plan a time to do so.

Specific logistics such as where to meet at DIA, etc. will be discussed in the weeks leading up to camp.

Athletes stay in Airbnb properties reserved by BCET, with each house supervised by a BCET Coach. They help mentor our athletes while living alongside them through the full camp experience. Each property will house no more than the maximum number of guests allowed by Airbnb to ensure comfort and safety. In the event of a medical emergency, our coaches are present and committed to taking care of your child.

We ask you to provide us with your health insurance provider and policy number during registration. That way we have it in case of medical emergencies.

To see an example of what a typical day of training might look like, scroll up to view our sample daily schedule. To learn about our coaching staff, click here to view our “meet the coaches” page. Our coaching staff is made up of decades of combined NCAA experience, every coach is well equipped to adjust training depending on an athlete’s ability level. If your athlete is more injury-prone, we’ll help them not only properly adjust their training, but better understand the injury itself so we can put the issues fully behind us.

Meals are all included in the camp registration costs. However, there are certain occasions where we go out to eat for an evening (Ex: Pearl Street Mall) or stop for food while on the road (Ex: Great Sand Dunes trip). We recommend that campers bring some money to have with them for these occasions.

We make large Costco runs and load the pantry at the houses up with snacks for fueling between meals. If you have your own preference of snacks that you don’t like to share, bring it with you to camp!

The full cost of camp is $8,484. It includes transportation to and from DIA, lodging, meals, coaching for running, coaching for strength training, strength facility access, a gear package from On, multiple national park trips, a full metabolic assessment (with consultation and report), media (both photo and video), and a tour of the OAC Global team facility. You can view our pricing breakdown here.

In order to make Summer Altitude Camp more financially comfortable for our athletes and their families, BCET offers 4 different payment options. Pay in full, 3-pay, 4-pay, and 6-pay. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required upon registration. After the deposit is submitted, you’ll receive digital invoices spaced out over time, based on the option you select during registration.

If you’d like to schedule a call to discuss camp cost and payment further. You can view our scheduling page at the link here.
